FLS Book

Dear Partners, Friends & Alumni: 

One of the things about FLS that makes it so special is the wonderful partners it has.  I never dreamed when I started this back in 1999 that so many friendships would be borne out of this.  I tell everyone who will listen that I am the Head Counselor as we share a common love of thoroughbred racing.   

As a team, we celebrate the good times, and commiserate each other during the down days as in thoroughbred racing everything seems to run in cycles.  We stress patience, patience, and then more patience as this is a game that has many peaks and valleys.  It certainly is not a sport for the feint of heart.  Never get too high, nor despair too low, as thoroughbred racing must be savored and enjoyed.  You should always try to keep an even keel. 

One of our special partners is Joerg Hoffmann.  He is always at the ready to take some wonderful photographs and to share them with all of us.  I am very proud to call him my friend.  We can't wait for his daughter Vicky to visit us at the barn from her native Germany this summer.  Watching her around the barn with the love she has for our horses is something to behold.  Vicky, I do hope that you have been practicing your English.  LOL 

In any event, Joerg was kind enough to present me with a special present yesterday at Philadelphia Park.  As Joerg said, it was a combination Xmas, New Year's, Birthday, and Valentine's present all rolled into one.   

Joerg had made me a one of kind picture book thru the years featuring Fantasy Lane Stable horses and you.  Everyone who was there yesterday including Alan was duly impressed.  It was made by Joerg and processed by Apple.  It is a hard cover edition that is bound.  I couldn't believe how thoughtful Joerg and his lovely wife Claudia were to make this for me. 

In any event, there were inquiries to Joerg from your fellow partners as to how they could get a copy for their coffee table.  Joerg, without hesitation offered to make copies at cost for all those who wanted them.  Believe me when I tell you that this is something special.  So below is a personal e-mail from Joerg if you have an interest.  Thank you Joerg.

I’m very happy that you liked the book I made. Please see below some of the pictures. The cost for the book will be $80 including shipping has 36 pages and is a hard cover. The shipping makes it more expensive since I can’t ship it directly from apple to the partners, as it has to go through me and then I can ship it to the partners.
